Your questions,
answered honestly.
We believe clarity comes before commitment. Here's what you should know about working with Oasis before we ever sit down together.
Who is a good fit for Oasis Wealth Planning?
We specialize in serving individuals and families who are retired or approaching retirement — people who want clarity, confidence, and a thoughtful roadmap for their financial future. Our clients typically include:
- Near-retirees who want to know if they're on track and how to make key decisions with confidence in the years leading up to retirement.
- Retirees seeking a dependable income strategy, holistic planning, and ongoing support as life evolves.
- Surviving spouses and widows who need trusted guidance during a complex and emotional period, including tax planning, cash flow management, and long-term decision support.
If you're not sure whether we're the right fit, that's exactly what our complimentary introductory meeting is for.
Do you offer a free initial consultation?
Yes. We offer a complimentary introductory meeting where we get to know your goals, concerns, and financial situation — and where you get to know us. There's no pressure and no obligation.
If there's a mutual fit, we'll schedule a second conversation to walk through our planning philosophy, outline your service options, and discuss how our team can support your goals. We want both sides to feel confident before moving forward.
Do you work with clients in person or remotely?
Both. We serve clients across several states and our process works seamlessly through secure video meetings and online tools. For those who prefer face-to-face, we provide access to professional Regus meeting spaces that are private, comfortable, and convenient.
What services does Oasis provide?
We offer two main service models:
- Ongoing Wealth Planning Services — A comprehensive, continuing relationship that includes financial planning, retirement income strategy, tax analysis, investment management, and regular reviews.
- Retirement Readiness Assessment — A one-time, in-depth review of your retirement plan, covering tax planning, asset allocation, Social Security timing, withdrawal strategy, and more. Ideal for those who want targeted guidance without an ongoing engagement.
What does "tax-focused" planning actually mean?
Most financial planning happens in isolation from tax planning — and that's a costly gap. At Oasis, tax strategy is woven into every recommendation we make, from how you withdraw assets in retirement, to when to claim Social Security, to how your portfolio is structured. Our team includes a CPA, which means tax considerations aren't an afterthought — they're central to your plan.
Do you provide ongoing investment management?
Yes. For ongoing Wealth Planning clients, we provide discretionary investment management that is fully integrated with your broader financial plan. Our approach emphasizes evidence-based strategies, tax efficiency, global diversification, and disciplined rebalancing — always guided by your long-term goals and personal risk tolerance.
How often will I meet with my advisor?
In your first year, most clients meet with us three to five times as we build your financial foundation and work through your most important planning priorities. After that, ongoing clients typically meet annually or semi-annually for formal reviews.
Beyond scheduled meetings, we're available year-round for questions and check-ins whenever life changes, new tax laws take effect, or important decisions arise. We do significant work behind the scenes on your behalf throughout the year.
How are your fees structured?
We are a fee-only firm, which means we are compensated solely by the fees we agree on with you — never by commissions, referral payments, or financial product sales. Our fee structure is designed to be transparent and straightforward:
- Ongoing Wealth Planning Services: A quarterly flat fee, typically starting around $2,500 per quarter, depending on the complexity of your situation and the scope of services.
- Retirement Readiness Assessment: A one-time fee generally ranging from $3,500 to $7,000.
We discuss fees openly during your introductory meetings so you know exactly what you're investing in before moving forward.
Is there a minimum asset level to work with you?
There is no asset minimum for our Retirement Readiness Assessment or other project-based engagements.
For our ongoing Wealth Planning Services, there is no formal minimum either, though our retiree clients typically have between $1 million and $10 million in investable assets. Mid-career clients generally have $400,000 or more in investments and household incomes of $200,000 or more.
We believe high-quality fiduciary advice should be accessible. The best starting point is a conversation — we'll help you determine which engagement makes the most sense for where you are right now.
What sets Oasis apart from other financial advisory firms?
Several things genuinely distinguish us:
- Integrated tax expertise. Our planning is built around tax strategy from the ground up — not bolted on at the end. We include a CPA as part of your planning team.
- A true team behind you. You have a dedicated Wealth Advisor and Client Relationship Associate, backed by a broader team with credentials including CPA, CFA, JD, and multiple CFPs.
- Life-centered planning. We focus on what the numbers are in service of — the life you want to live.
- Pure fiduciary commitment. We never accept commissions. Our only incentive is delivering value to you.
- Flexible engagement models. Whether you want ongoing support or a one-time deep-dive, we have a structured path for you.
Will I have a dedicated advisor or work with a rotating team?
You'll have a dedicated primary advisor who leads your relationship and knows the details of your financial life — along with a Client Relationship Associate focused on your day-to-day needs. Behind them is a broader team with deep expertise in retirement income, tax strategy, investment management, and financial planning.
This structure gives you the consistency of a dedicated relationship with the depth of a full advisory team.
What does "fiduciary" mean, and why does it matter?
A fiduciary is legally and ethically required to act in your best interest at all times — not in the interest of a product company, a broker, or their own commissions. Not all financial advisors are fiduciaries.
At Oasis, we are a fee-only, fully fiduciary firm. We do not sell products, earn referral fees, or receive any compensation beyond the fees we agree on with you. That alignment matters — especially when the stakes are high, like funding a 30-year retirement.
